As many golf fans know, TPC Scottsdale is the famed site of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The popular PGA event draws thousands of Scottsdale golf fans and even out-of-state visitors every year. The 16th hole has become a special favorite. Enthusiastic fans cheer and scream from stadium-like grandstands and corporate suites as the traditional decorum known to golf is briefly suspended in the high spirit of entertainment.
With new additions to the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale, the riotous 16th hole is about to become even more rowdy. It has recently been announced that TPC Scottsdale will be receiving 20 new skyboxes, bringing the total to 192. Greenside cabanas and suites will also be added to the 16th hole. Hopefully, the new features will help to dampen the recent ban of caddie races at the Phoenix Open.
Tom King, chairman of the Phoenix Open states that corporate sponsorship has greatly fueled the new additions to the event. The Phoenix open is often one of the most attended events of the PGA Tour. The most recent tournament drew nearly 526,000 fans for the week. Next year’s Phoenix Open will take place from January 27th to February 4th.
There are a number of reasons golfers choose to live in Scottsdale. With sunny weather, incredible views and a large collection of world-renowned courses, Scottsdale is a golfer’s dream. TPC Scottsdale is the home of the popular Phoenix Open and features two championship golf courses.
