There are several country clubs in Scottsdale that have either just completed or are in the process of renovations. It seems that all of the clubs are suddenly renovating to try to keep up with each other. Every club wants to boast of having the newest and best facilities. Desert Highlands kicked off the trend when they renovated their clubhouse 5 years ago. Desert Mountain renovated their fitness center and spa last year. DC Ranch is finishing the construction of a new fitness center, spa, and pool. Terravita is currently doing an extensive clubhouse remodel. Estancia just broke ground on a new fitness center and pool.
New members will benefit from the renovation and construction projects. In many cases, the new members get to use a beautiful new facility without going through the construction project, during which services are limited. Whether new members have to help pay for the renovations is different from club to club. In some cases, future members will incur an assessment to help pay for the new facilities, while in others they do not. For example, Desert Highland’s Clubhouse Assessment is $70/month through 2019 and the Irrigation Assessment to renovate the golf course is $100/month through 2029. On the flip side, new members to Estancia will not have to pay the clubhouse assessment for the new fitness center. Only those who were members at the time of the vote will have to pay the assessment.
If you are interested in buying a home in a Scottsdale country club, I would be happy to help you sort through your options. Unlike some agents, I don’t restrict my services to only 1 or 2 clubs. I represent buyers throughout all of the golf clubs in Scottsdale. Feel free to reach out.
