The 223-acre parcel that includes Sierra Reserve was sold to Bob Parsons on March 10, 2014. Sierra Reserve was originally intended for the construction of new luxury Scottsdale homes, but with the recent sale, the community will no longer be developed. Parsons, CEO, and founder of GoDaddy, recently purchased the adjacent Golf Club Scottsdale, which has since been renamed Scottsdale National Golf Club. The new land he has purchased will go to helping him achieve his goals for the golf club.
Though developer Lyle Anderson is certainly disappointed that the construction of the community has been canceled, the offer made by Parsons was given careful consideration by Reserve Development partners before it was approved. Anderson recently expressed his gratitude to all who have supported the Sierra Reserve project and for the enthusiasm shown by the community for its completion.
There has yet to be any news regarding Anderson’s future development plans.
Many homebuyers were drawn to Sierra Reserve, as new construction is always in high demand. While Sierra Reserve homes will no longer be built, there are still many new construction homes available in the area. This even includes homes in newly built communities.
