The secret is out…more and more people are noticing that Scottsdale is an ideal place to retire. Money Magazine listed Scottsdale as one of the top places in the country to retire. It described Scottsdale’s active lifestyle featuring stunning hiking trails throughout the city. It is easy to keep fit and healthy in a city where the preserves have some of the best hiking trails imaginable… just minutes from your door. The city has a long history in arts and architecture with Frank Lloyd Wright establishing his home and school in Scottsdale since the 1930s. The Scottsdale Art Walk and gallery scene will impress the most cultivated collectors. Scottsdale offers an upscale lifestyle in a warm and sunny climate.
WalletHub also recently ranked Scottsdale high on its list of the best places to retire. Scottsdale was awarded second place in the country based on affordability, activities, quality of life and healthcare. Scottsdale ranked high out of 182 cities because it is a very affordable place to live, compared to other resort communities. Arizona has low taxes, housing is relatively inexpensive (especially compared to California and the East Coast), we have fantastic recreational options, weather and health care (including the Mayo Clinic). This all adds up to an extremely attractive lifestyle.
Another important factor is that Arizona rarely has natural disasters. It is sad to see the hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes that are affecting others. It would be devastating to lose everything after putting in decades of hard work to achieve your retirement dream home.
