100 of the nation’s most popular cities, measuring them by factors such as average family income, cost of living, crime rate, quality of schools in the area and number of parks per capita. From there, a list was formed of the Ten Best Cities for Families.
With an average annual salary of $136,000, Scottsdale managed to top the list. While income may only be a small part of what contributes to a quality childhood, it certainly helps when it comes to the cost of living. Many home buyers like the idea of raising their families in an affluent region such as Scottsdale, where amenities and attractions are abundant. Low crime rates and a selection of high-ranking schools help to give parents peace of mind as well.
Also on the list of Best Cities for Families was Chandler, AZ, ranking at No. 4 behind Fremont and Irvine, CA. MyLife.com ranked the city 14th out of 100 in the crime rate category and 15th in average family income.
