The Quintero Golf Club has opened the doors for non-members to play their high ranking golf course. The club was previously only for members’ use. Quintero is located in Peoria, just 20 minutes northeast of most Scottsdale homes. It is a beautiful course and is known for its pristine views of mountains and saguaros. It is surrounded entirely by Federal lands which gives it a very secluded feeling. I personally find it to be one of the prettiest courses in Arizona.
The golf club has taken full advantage of the dramatic desert landscape with significant elevation changes and collections of native cactus and trees, including Saguaro, Ocotillo, Ironwood, Palo Verde, and Acacia. Great care has been taken to maintain the natural setting, making the course appear as if it has been a part of the landscape for many years.
The economy has likely forced the club to open to non-members to increase revenue. Quintero is now available for daily-fee play with tee time reservations. It was designed by Rees Jones and includes an extensive practice facility. Quintero was ranked among the “Top 100 Residential Courses” and “America’s Greatest Modern Courses” by Golfweek. It was also named one of the best in Arizona by Golf Digest.
