The Commerce Department recently noted that single-family home sales have seen their first yearly gain in seven years as the average prices continue to increase.
The average price of a new home in the United States rose to $248,900 last month or a 1.3 percent rise compared to the month of November. Nationally, the average price of a new home increased to 9.6 percent in December compared to the year before.
The Commerce Department also noted there was a 20 percent increase in new home sales from 2011 to 2012.
