So you’ve decided to sell your Scottsdale home….good timing! The inventory of Scottsdale homes for sale is down and it is becoming more of a Seller’s market, especially in the high end. The following is a list of steps to help you prepare your Scottsdale home for sale.
Start by deciding when you want to officially list the home on the mls. Most people need several days to weeks to prepare the house for sale. It is important to have the home in tip top shape and ready for buyers the moment it hits the mls. You do not want to be still decluttering and landscaping when the buyers start to arrive. The first few weeks of a listing are critical so you need to be prepared. Allow one to two weeks to completely declutter the home. Go through every closet and the garage. Either donate items to charity or put it in storage. Consider whether you need to repaint. If so, this will add a few weeks to the process. Clean all flooring and windows professionally inside and out. A sparkling house will command a higher price and much more interest. Spruce up the landscaping and add flowers by the front door if the weather allows. Throw out the old door mat and buy a fresh new door mat.
