Whisper Rock Golf Club is receiving a lot of free advertising this year from PGA golfer Martin Kaymer. During this season’s PGA Tour, Kaymer has been sporting the Whisper Rock logo on his cap, a simple “swirl” design that is easily distinguished from the logos any other top-50 golfers can be seen wearing. Whisper Rock, located in North Scottsdale, happens to be Kaymer’s home course, and many other PGA pros are members there as well.
Most golfers tend to don sponsored gear, but Kaymer has stated that he just wants to be comfortable. He explained that when it comes to sponsors, the right “fit” is not always easy to find. Kaymer has recently moved up in the FedEx points standings from 103rd to 90th and has advanced to the Deutsche Bank Championship this week. Though he is not being sponsored by Whisper Rock this season, he feels at home wearing the cap, which was at least given to him for free.
Many PGA Tour players have made Scottsdale golf clubs their home courses. Martin Kaymer and many other professional golfers are members of the highly exclusive Whisper Rock Golf Club. Bubba Watson is a member of Estancia Club, located in the Troon area of Scottsdale. Phil Mickelson plays at his home course, Grayhawk, and is also the partial owner of McDowell Mountain Ranch Golf Club.
The reason so many big names choose to call Scottsdale home is because there are so many high-caliber golf courses available to play. With renowned clubs such as Troon North, Desert Highlands, Desert Mountain and more, Scottsdale is somewhat of a golf enthusiast’s paradise.
