Last year, Taylor Morrison Homes, purchased 48.8 acres in North Scottsdale where Greasewood Flat is located. The company wants to redevelop 42 of the 48.8 acres and turn it into a new housing subdivision. In honor of the family that owns Greasewood Flat, the subdivision will be called “Cavalliere Flats”.
If you are unfamiliar with Greasewood Flat, it is an ancient bunkhouse built about 130 years ago. It was converted into a restaurant and bar in the 1950s by George”Doc” Cavalliere. This western hotspot features live music every Thursday through Sunday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. You can dance or curl up next to one of Greasewood’s many patio fire pits and roast marshmallows. Greasewood Flat is a small bit of history with a great night guaranteed. The menu offers a variety of burgers, which they are known for, as well as other favorites like pulled pork, chicken breast, hot dogs, and chips and salsa. You can also enjoy local beer at the Tap Shack, which is a new addition to Greasewood Flat. It offers beer from 11 different breweries around Arizona. One of their newest beers is White Chocolate Ale, a specialty for the upcoming holiday season.
Greasewood Flat is on a large plot of land and can host a wide variety of events, such as weddings or other private parties.
Greasewood Flat is located in the Troon North area of Scottsdale. This beautiful part of the city is full of wonderful restaurants and has a different feel from the Downtown Scottsdale area. Enjoy this family favorite before it’s gone!
