The DC Ranch Community Center had a grand opening celebration today. Desert Camp has been under renovation for 2 years. It has been a very long project and the opening was highly anticipated by residents throughout the community. The project was intended to add two critical amenities – pickleball courts and a fitness center.
Pickleball is all the rage right now and players have been using the tennis courts. Pickleball players wanted their own courts, separate from tennis. There are now 4 beautiful new pickleball courts at Desert Camp. DC Ranch’s previous fitness room was extremely lame. It was a small room with only a handful of machines. The lack of a real fitness center has always been a source of contention in the community. The original developers, DMB, developed a private fitness center, The Village, and residents were expected to pay extra for that on top of the HOA fees. The new fitness center and studio are expansive with dozens of new machines and racks of free weights. The quality of the fitness center rivals several country clubs in the area.
The renovation went far beyond just adding pickleball and fitness. The entire community center was rebuilt and expanded. There is a beautiful new reception area, lounges, fitness center, fitness studio, change rooms, coffee and beverage station etc.. It is a gorgeous facility and well worth the wait. As a previous resident of DC Ranch I am envious of the new fitness center. I wish they had that when I lived there! I am sure DC Ranch residents will be delighted by the new community center.
