Firerock Country Club Purchased by Members

Firerock Country Club, an elite Scottsdale golf club previously owned by developers MCO, was purchased by its members for $5.5 million toward the end of July. Firerock club members gained ownership of both the golf course designed by acclaimed course architect Gary Pank and the 29,058 square-foot clubhouse.

A vote showed that a whopping 64 percent of the club’s members were in favor of the purchase. 16 percent of members were against the purchase, while around 20 percent did not vote.

Firerock, now member-owned, includes an 18-hole, par-72 course that reaches 7,001 yards. The 2-story clubhouse is beautifully designed with a formal dining area, a lounge, outdoor patios, and a sitting area with elegant fireplaces. Club facilities also include a fitness center, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

Many parties were in the running to purchase the coveted country club. Phil Mickelson had made an offer to purchase Firerock Country Club earlier in the year. Mickelson, a professional golfer and Scottsdale fan favorite, and his management firm currently own Scottsdale’s McDowell Mountain Golf Club.
