Since Arizona has such great weather, 15 MLB teams from around the country come to the Phoenix area to practice for the MLB season. The baseball teams are as follows: the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox, the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Indians, the Colorado Rockies, the Kansas City Royals, the Los Angeles Angels, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Oakland Athletics, the San Diego Padres, the San Francisco Giants, the Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers. Scottsdale has two baseball stadiums: Salt River Fields, where the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies practice, and Scottsdale Stadium, where the San Francisco Giants practice. The other stadiums are all over the Valley in Glendale, Mesa, Phoenix, Goodyear, Peoria, Tempe, and Surprise. Going to Spring Training games is a great and inexpensive way for the whole family to get out and enjoy the weather. Snack on nachos, hot dogs, pretzels and all the other classic baseball stadium goodies. Cactus League Spring Training kicks off on February 26 and goes through early April. You can watch both teams that went to the World Series in 2014, the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals, face off in Spring Training on Sunday, March 22 in Surprise. Cactus League Spring Training has only gotten bigger and better over the years as the public eye has turned to Phoenix because of its great weather. Phoenix is now a place where you can enjoy just about every sport.
