The Boulders Resort Ranked in Top 5 Golf Courses for Women

Scottsdale is no stranger to award-winning golf courses. Many courses within the city and in surrounding areas have been highly praised by leading golf magazines. Recently, another accolade has been added to the long list. The Boulders Resort, golf resort located just north of Scottsdale and a popular destination for Scottsdale golfers, was named in the Top 5 of Golf Digest’s “Top 50 Courses for Women.”

Making No. 3 on the list, The Boulders Resort has been hailed as one of few courses in the country with distinct design qualities and programs that cater to women golfers. Topping the list was Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in North Carolina, with Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia following behind, just ahead of The Boulders Resort.

Ranking for the list was hardly arbitrary. A panel of 100 women sat down to evaluate each course for specific details in the design layout and tee options, such as whether the course had a set of tees less than 5,300 yards and at least two sets of tees with slope ratings for women, as well as minimal forced carries from the forward tees. Not only does The Boulders Resort have new tees at 2,362 yards, its Fore Ladies program offers women the perfect introduction to golf.
