If you love shopping, now is the time to look for Scottsdale homes for sale near the high-end retail centers of Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland Commons. Scottsdale Quarter, a popular shopping, dining and entertainment hotspot for many North Scottsdale residents, has plans to launch its third phase as early as next month. This new phase will include 22,400 square feet of retail space as well as 275 luxury apartments.
The new six-story building will be located at the corner of 73rd Street and the Greenway-Hayden Loop. Plans include a four-level parking garage with two underground levels. It has yet to be announced which stores will occupy the new retail space, but many are anticipating a Bloomingdale’s location. Neither Scottsdale Quarter nor Bloomingdale’s has been able to address the rumors one way or the other.
It is not likely that Scottsdale Quarter will see a Bloomingdale’s department store in its near future, since these are known to reach well over 100,000 square feet. However, it may be possible for the new space to fit a Bloomingdale’s Outlet Store. Of the 13 Bloomingdale’s Outlets scattered nationwide, most are around 25,000 square feet in size.
Plans for a Bloomingdale’s location at CityNorth in Phoenix fell through back in 2009. Around the same time, Nordstrom also abandoned their plans for a store at CityNorth. Both stores have reason to desire a location at Scottsdale Quarter, and either would be a great addition to the already beloved shopping center.
Construction of the new building is set to begin next month with a projected completion date sometime in 2015.
